Tottenham and Los Angeles Galaxy played out a 1-1 draw in their pre-season friendly on Tuesday.

Gareth Bale, who was ruled out of Olympic duty by injury, opened the scoring for Spurs in the first half before the home side restored parity prior to the break. Bale converted a 17th minute cross from summer signing Gylfi Sigurdsson but David Lopes replied before the break to make sure the match ended 1-1.

David Beckham and Landon Donovan were absent from the Galaxy line-up after being selected to feature for the MLS All-Stars against Chelsea on Wednesday.

Stoke suffered a 2-1 defeat to Major League Soccer side Columbus Crew in Ohio. The Premier League side went ahead after 23 minutes when Jonathan Walters headed in a Ryan Shotton cross at the near post.

But goals from Aaron Horton and Ben Speas wrapped up the win for the home side in the first game of three for Stoke in North America.
