Tomas Rosicky is facing up to two months on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on an injured Achilles tendon, according to reports in the Czech Republic.

Rosicky, 31, is expected to miss the start of the 2012-13 season after suffering swelling of his Achilles while representing his nation at Euro 2012, with the injury requiring an operation.

"There was some swelling that we needed to get rid of," the midfielder's agent, Pavel Paska, is quoted as saying by Sport. "Tomas has already started physio."

Rosicky made 38 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions last season, scoring twice, and his form earned him a new contract with the club.
