Redknapp expects 'panicking' Prem clubs to come calling

Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp believes an opening will materialise towards the end of the year for him to return to Premier League management.

Redknapp was surprisingly sacked by Spurs and overlooked by England this summer, but he insists that he will get another chance to manage in the top flight when "panic" sets in at clubs who are desperate to avoid missing out on the financial windfall from the bumper new TV contract.

With the Premier League coffers about to be swollen with a 75% increase in TV income in one year's time, there will be more pressure than ever to avoid relegation this season and Redknapp is prepared to bide his time for Premier League comeback rather than take up offers from abroad.

"I am eager to get back into the game, I am looking to get back into football management, but I am in no hurry," Redknapp told ESPN. "Come November, December time, clubs will panic if they are down the bottom.

"No club can afford to drop out of the Premier League next season with so much money coming in next August. With each club getting anything between £60 million to £90 million there is too much at stake.

"The stakes have always been high, but they are now are even higher."
