Sao Paulo sports director Adalberto Baptista has denied reports linking Manchester City with a bid for Brazil international Lucas Moura.

Lucas, 19, has been a long-term target for Manchester City's major rivals Manchester United, who saw two bids for the Sao Paulo player rejected in the past two weeks.

Speculation of the player's departure for Europe has increased in the past few days, with cash-rich Anzhi Makhachkala and PSG linked to the player, along with City.

Baptista, though, told CalcioMercato: "Interest from Manchester City? We are not aware of it and we have not had contact with them."

Besides City, questions were also asked about reports of a €25 million bid from Inter Milan that had emerged in the Italian media on Thursday. However, once more the reports were denied by the Brazilian club.

Baptista added: "An offer of €25million for Lucas from Inter Milan? We have not received written offers from Inter and that figure should not be enough, since we have already refused an official offer of €32million for our player."
