Stoke boss Pulis relieved over Huth diagnosis
Stoke boss Tony Pulis expressed his relief after defender Robert Huth was diagnosed with the "less serious" strand of viral meningitis.
Huth was rushed to hospital on Monday after reporting for training with symptoms of the potentially life-threatening virus.
Stoke released a statement on Tuesday evening explaining Huth had "suspected meningitis", but further tests revealed the Germany international has contracted the milder form of the illness.
"Obviously it was a massively worrying time for Robert, his family and everyone at the club," Pulis said. "I'm just relieved it's the less serious strand and not the serious strand which doesn't bear thinking about."
