Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins will hold crunch talks with Scott Sinclair, with Manchester City hovering over to make a bid.

Sinclair is in the final year of his contract and is believed to have caught the eye of City boss Roberto Mancini.

Swansea manager Michael Laudrup said on Monday evening that he was confident of keeping Sinclair at the club, but Jenkins is not prepared to let the former Chelsea winger's contract wind down and lose him for nothing next year.

"At this level of football and with the transfer money which could come in with players leaving in the final year of their contract, we wouldn't want to go down that route again of allowing a player to let his contract run out again," Jenkins is quoted as saying in the Sun.

"With Scott being a first-team regular we need a decision one way or the other as soon as possible so the manager can be clear in his mind on where the team goes and make sure the squad is right for August."
