Livermore, Richards & Carrick in England squad
Roy Hodgson has named his England squad for the friendly against Italy in Switzerland next week, calling up Manchester United's Michael Carrick for the first time since 2010.
Hodgson has given first call-ups to Spurs duo Steven Caulker and Jake Livermore as well as Chelsea's Ryan Bertrand, and is expected to hand a debut to United's Tom Cleverley, who played for Stuart Pearce's Team GB at the Olympics.
Norwich City goalkeeper John Ruddy, who was called up to the Euro 2012 squad but forced to withdraw because of injury, is named again, and fellow keeper Jack Butland, another Team GB player, could win a first senior cap.
Up front, Daniel Sturridge - who missed a shootout penalty as South Korea eliminated Team GB from the Games - is included, as is Andy Carroll, who scored for Hodgson's side against Sweden at Euro 2012.
In defence, John Terry misses out but Chelsea team-mate Gary Cahill is selected. Their colleague Frank Lampard, who missed Euro 2012 through injury, is back.
The squad will travel to Switzerland on Tuesday, with the match being played on Wednesday night.
