Lille defender Mathieu Debuchy insists he still wants to leave the Stade Metropole despite the club stating that he won't be sold.

Debuchy, 27, has previously outlined his wish to pursue a new challenge and Premier League outfit Newcastle United has been mooted as his most likely destination.

Lille are determined to keep the France international, with chairman Michel Seydoux claiming earlier this month that he would remain at the 2010-11 Ligue 1 champions after bids from the Magpies were rejected.

However Debuchy, speaking after Lille's 2-1 win over St Etienne on the opening day of the season, remained hopeful that his 19-year association with the club will soon be coming to an end.

"I don't want to talk about my future,'' Debuchy told Canal+. "I heard what the chairman said. The transfer window is open until September 4 (in France). I still want to go. We will see.''
