Benfica tell City to stump up £24m for Garcia
Benfica have warned Manchester City that there is no negotiation over their £24 million valuation of midfielder Javi Garcia.
Garcia, 25, is understood to be a City target after first-team coach Fausto Salsano scouted him as Benfica beat Vitoria Setubal 5-0 on Sunday.
Roberto Mancini is keen to bolster his midfield with a star name and could look to Garcia, who has impressed since joining Benfica from Real Madrid in 2009.
The Spain international has a £24 million buy-out clause in his contract, and Benfica are unwilling to sell him for anything less than that figure.
"Javi only leaves for this figure. It is non-negotiable," club president Luis Filipe Vieira said.
