Tiote happy at Newcastle
Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote is happy to stay at St James' Park, despite speculation linking him with a move away from the club.
Tiote, 26, arrived at the Magpies from FC Twente in 2010 for a fee of £3.5 million, and was considered by many to be a bargain purchase. His form over the last two seasons has seen him consistently linked with a move away from Tyneside - with fees rumoured to be in the region of £20 million.
However a source close to the Ivory Coast international revealed that he is keen to remain at the club - having signed a six-year deal in February of last year.
Arsenal had been heavily linked with the midfielder following the sale of Alex Song to Barcelona for £15 million.
However, speaking on Sunday, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger confirmed that Tiote would not be joining the Gunners, saying: "Tiote is a good player, but he's not on the way to Arsenal."
