Queens Park Rangers have agreed a fee with Real Madrid for midfielder Esteban Granero, with the player set to discuss terms.

Granero, 25, has struggled to make an impact at the Bernabeu, and looks certain to depart after falling further down the pecking order following the arrival of Luka Modric from Tottenham.

The Spanish midfielder started his career with Los Blancos but departed to play for Getafe between 2007 and 2009, before returning to his boyhood club.

Due to the quality at Madrid, Granero has only managed 67 league appearances in the last three years, but can claim to be a La Liga winner following last season's success under Jose Mourinho.
