Ryan Taylor injury blow for Toon

Newcastle United have announced that Ryan Taylor will be out of action for several months with a knee problem.

Taylor, 28, sustained the injury after an awkward fall in the Europa League success against Atromitos on Thursday.

A statement read: "Ryan Taylor will be ruled out for several months after suffering a knee injury during Thursday's Europa League qualifier against Atromitos.

"Taylor underwent a scan on Friday afternoon, of which the results showed he has sustained a serious injury which will see him sidelined for months rather than weeks.

"Everyone at [the] club wishes the popular player well in his recovery from the injury."
