Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed he is considering giving Olympic champion Usain Bolt his wish and picking him in a game for Manchester United.

Bolt, the six-time Olympic gold medallist, has regularly mentioned his desire to play for United at some point in his career, claiming he has the talent to star for the Red Devils. And it appears the United manager might be about to give the Jamaican sprinter his wish.

Ferguson has confirmed he is considering give Bolt a chance to impress in a charity game next summer, as United legends take on the past greats of another of the sprinter's favourite clubs, Real Madrid, in the annual Corazon Classic.

"Usain's a character and a big United fan. It's interesting he says he'd like to play in a charity game," Ferguson said in Inside United. "It could be brilliant, and next year when we play Real Madrid's Legends again, so there could be opportunities to bring him up and see how he does."

It remains to be seen whether Bolt will be able to take up the offer, however. With the Corazon Classic likely to take place just two months before the 2013 Athletics World Championships in Russia, he may not want to risk injury on the football pitch.

The lure of donning a United strip and facing the likes of Zinedine Zidane, Luis Figo and Roberto Carlos may prove too much, however.
