Lambert: Exit only option for Warnock and Hutton

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert insists he has no intentions of restoring Alan Hutton and Stephen Warnock to his first team plans.

The unwanted defenders have remained at the club after Lambert failed to move them on during the summer transfer window, but the Scot will continue his policy of asking the two experienced full backs to train with the club's development squad, rather than attempt to integrate the pair back into the senior squad.

And Lambert will continue his efforts to remove the high earners from his wage bill by looking to loan out both players to Championship clubs.

He insists he has no personal issues with either player and said: "The situation's the same as a few weeks ago. I spoke to Alan about the Scotland game and he was fine. He trains hard. I don't have a problem with him.

"I've always had good dialogue with him. He's not training with the first team. I've said if there's a loan move then we can look at it. I've always been honest with him, the same with Stephen Warnock."

Lambert has signed young full backs Josh Bennett and Matthew Lowton and believes he has a duty to Villa to nurture the duo and mould them into regular Premier League performers.

"The lads I'm going with are my concern. But you never know. Football's the most unpredictable game ever."

Hutton has been part of Craig Levein's Scotland plans for the two recent World Cup qualifiers and has expressed his disappointment of being frozen out.

He is eager to kick start his career away from Villa as is Warnock and it is believed both are open to the possibility of moving to a Championship during the emergency loan window.
