Premier League round-up: City snatch win as Chelsea sink Arsenal

Suarez's Carrow love affair
Luis Suarez clearly loves playing at Carrow Road. After scoring a hat-trick in Liverpool's 3-0 win at Norwich last season, the Uruguayan was at it again, netting another treble as the Reds hammered the Canaries 5-2.

With Liverpool chiefs recently weighing up a move away from Anfield, maybe they should look at relocating to Norfolk. Either that or Chris Hughton should consider a January swoop for Suarez.

Demba does a Maradona
The gods must be smiling down on Alan Pardew at the moment. After an unprecedented eight-year contract at Newcastle (in managers' years that must be at least 40), he saw his Toon Army steal a point from his former side Reading - we're talking daylight robbery here.

After being played off the park for much of the match, the Magpies looked set to leave the Madejski Stadium empty handed, only for a massive slice of luck. With the clock ticking down to the final whistle, Demba Ba (who had already equalised once with a stunning volley) snatched a point for Newcastle with a blatant handball to deflect Shane Ferguson's cross past Reading keeper Alex McCarthy.

Party like it's 1989
The last time Tottenham won at Old Trafford, Gary Lineker was on the scoresheet. Andre Villas-Boas was facing calls for the sack after a difficult start to life in the White Hart Lane hotseat, but the former Chelsea boss secured his place in Spurs folklore as he engineered a famous 3-2 win as Tottenham broke their Old Trafford hoodoo. They did make it hard for themselves though as after a mad few minutes that saw Nani and Shinji Kagawa claw United back into the match, they were forced to hang on for a three points that will feel like far more for Spurs fans.

Chelsea's Emirates hat-trick
Chelsea survived the biggest challenge to their Premier League title aspirations as they ended Arsenal's unbeaten start to the season. Juan Mata's free-kick secured a 2-1 win against the Gunners, a third win for the Blues at Emirates Stadium. It marked an unwelcome milestone for the home side as their London rivals became the first visiting team to win three Premier League games at the ground.

JT's charm offensive
In what is not likely to go down as one of John Terry's best weeks, the Chelsea skipper was on the PR crusade as he took a leaf out of the European Ryder Cup golfers' book. The likes of Graeme McDowell and Paul Lawrie delighted the Medinah crowds this week as they invited kids to make their putts during a practice round and signing merchandise, and Terry followed suit at Emirates Stadium. After the full-time whistle, the former England defender ran over to the celebrating Chelsea fans and handed his boots to a delighted youngster.

Paying the penalty
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers wrote to referees' boss Mike Riley this week after seeing a number of key decisions go against his side this season. Rodgers felt Luis Suarez had two plausible penalty appeals rejected in their last two league games. He can now make that three in three - the striker was bundled over by Norwich's Leon Barnett, only for referee Mike Jones wave play on, much to the ire of the Reds players. Fortunately for Liverpool, it didn't prove costly as they cruised to a 5-2 win.
