Neven Subotic fumes over penalty

Borussia Dortmund Neven Subotic has blasted the decision by referee Pavel Kralovec to award Manchester City a late penalty in their Champions League clash on Wednesday.

Subotic was ruled to have handled the ball following Sergio Aguero's close-range attempt in the 1-1 draw. Kraloven pointed to the spot, allowing Mario Balotelli to net the equaliser, but Subotic maintains the call was the wrong one.

Asked if he thought the incident should have resulted in a penalty, Subotic told Sky Sports: "Never. Not a chance. He shoots from half a yard and I just have my hand. I've just seen the pictures, but obviously I have a hand, I can't cut it off and he hits it.

"I think it's clear to see in the pictures that I wasn't trying to get to the ball because I didn't have time to react. Therefore, it was never in my life a penalty."

Marco Reus gave Dortmund the lead earlier as he pounced on a mistake from Jack Rodwell. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Joe Hart kept City in the contest with a string of fine saves until Balotelli earned a share of the spoils from the penalty spot.
