Tottenham Hotspur's preference is to remain in situ at White Hart Lane while their new stadium is being built adjacent to their old home - but they are also looking at options to groundshare at Wembley or the Olympic Stadium.

Spurs were once in fierce competition to land full usage of the Olympic Stadium, which they planned to demolish and start again from scratch, but are now exploring the possibility of renting it as a temporary home.

A Spurs boardroom source told ESPN on Sunday that the new ground can be built around, and to the north of, the current White Hart Lane stadium. However, the club is doing due diligence on all available options in case it impacts on the timescale and cost of the new stadium.

Spurs are already in contact with Wembley chiefs and are looking into the Olympic Stadium option - with West Ham United still keen to win the right to take possession of the home of London 2012, and with Leyton Orient still hoping to share with the Hammers.
