Arsenal's Jack Wilshere is set to take part in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Chelsea as part of his rehabilitation from a lengthy spell on the sidelines, according to the Sun.

Wilshere, 20, last played for Arsenal's first team against Fulham in May 2011, having since struggled with ankle and knee problems.

The England international has, though, recently returned to action, taking part in Under-21 matches against West Brom and Reading.

It is reported in the Sun that a friendly versus Chelsea, that will take place at Arsenal's training base at London Colney, has been arranged with a view to Wilshere completing at least 75 minutes.

Bacary Sagna and Emmanuel Frimpong, also both long-term injury victims, are anticipated to line up alongside Wilshere against Chelsea as they close in on being at manager Arsene Wenger's disposal.

It is reported that Arsenal's Capital One Cup meeting with Reading on October 30 could be pencilled in as a possible comeback match for Wilshere.
