Jack Wilshere cleared another significant hurdle in his bid to return to the Arsenal first-team by completing 90 minutes in a friendly against Chelsea on Wednesday.

Wilshere had featured for Arsenal's Under-21 side already this month, but was yet to last the full course in a match.

He managed that - as did Bacary Sagna and Emmanuel Frimpong, two others on the comeback trail - as Arsenal were beaten 2-0 at London Colney.

England international Wilshere did not feature at all for Arsenal last season, but looked to be recovering some of his sharpness against Chelsea, forcing goalkeeper Jamal Blackman into a sharp second-half save.

Meanwhile, John Terry played the first half for Chelsea, after his decision to retire from international football made him available for selection.
