Ajax's Christian Eriksen took just ten seconds to snub Manchester City, according to the player's agent.

Eriksen, 20, attracted interest from City as well as Zenit St Petersburg and an unnamed German club during the summer transfer window of 2011, while the Denmark international was also asked to meet City boss Roberto Mancini.

However, his agent Martin Schoot has now revealed that his client turned down a chance to move to the Premier League, preferring to stay and develop in the Eredivisie rather than follow the money.

"He's not interested in money," Schoot told De Telegraaf. "He chose to stay for his development and because of that he's at Ajax. He's got an excellent relationship with Frank de Boer and he's enjoying himself in Amsterdam.

"Christian didn't think about it [the offer from Manchester City] for longer than 10 seconds."

Eriksen, who joined Ajax at the age of 16, will have a chance to come face to face with the Premier League champions when they visit Amsterdam in the Champions League on Wednesday.
