AVB cools Spurs bid talk for Willian
Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has insisted he has not given any thought to making a move for Shakhtar Donetsk forward Willian.
Villas-Boas attempted to sign Willian during his spell as Chelsea manager and it would appear the pair have remained close, as the Brazilian revealed this week that they regularly exchange text messages.
The talk of text conversations set tongues wagging, as did Willian's claim that he would like to test himself in the Premier League. Villas-Boas remains an admirer of the 24-year-old but the Portuguese's thoughts are on his injured players rather than new recruits.
"He is an extremely good player but we have to respect what we are doing and the talent we have in our squad," Villas-Boas told Sky Sports News.
"I have not thought about January yet. The scouts all over the world are gathering information but we have not dedicated ourselves to a study of January."
First-team pair Scott Parker and Younes Kaboul are due back from injury in the next couple of months and Villas-Boas feels that will be a huge boost to his squad.
Villas-Boas said: "We have so many of our first-team players coming back towards the end of December and January and those will be like the addition to our squad."
