Spurs value Bale at £60m amid Madrid reports
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has slapped a £60 million transfer fee on Gareth Bale amid talk of a move to Real Madrid, ESPN understands.
Bale, 23, signed a new five-year contract in the summer, suggesting the winger will be staying at White Hart Lane for the foreseeable future, but that has failed to stop him recently being linked with the Spanish champions.
While ESPN is led to believe that the Wales international is more than happy where he is at the moment and that Spurs do not want to lose their man, Levy understands that every player has his price and would be willing to accept a bid in the region of £60 million.
Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has the chance to raise the needed cash in the summer, or even January, by selling off several big names.
Madrid signed a partnership agreement with Spurs after buying Luka Modric in the summer, believed to be an advantage to the Spanish club when bargaining for players.
However, the north London club have insisted to ESPN that the partnership does not have anything to do with the selling of star players.
