Out-of-favour Arsenal attacker Andrey Arshavin is one of a number of players on Reading's January transfer wishlist, according to Royals owner Anton Zingarevich.

The Berkshire club are currently mired in the relegation zone with just five points from their opening nine games, with wealthy owner Zingarevich confirming that he will invest in the playing squad when the transfer window re-opens in a bid to avoid an immediate return to the Championship.

Arshavin, 31, has been touted as a possible option for Reading after playing 46 minutes of Premier League football for the Gunners this season.

Zingarevich confirmed the club are interested in the Russia international, but insisted he is one of a number of options being considered.

"Arshavin is interesting for Reading," Zingarevich told Russian sports website sbp.kp.ru. "But he is one of 10 players that we are interested in."
