Jol set to extend Fulham stay

Martin Jol revealed he is "happy to stay" at Fulham after the club approached him to remain at Craven Cottage until 2014.

Fulham reportedly wish to activate a clause in the Dutchman's contract that would extend his stay for a further season.

Jol has enjoyed a successful time at Fulham, leading the club to their second-highest points tally in the Premier League in his first year in charge last term, and he remains committed to furthering the progress he has made.

Jol has also revealed that captain Brede Hangeland has been offered a new deal as the club works to keep their senior players committed to the club as well as their manager.

"We made him a very good offer and he smiled for the first time since a couple of months ago, so I think he was quite happy," Jol said.

"Hopefully, he will sign that because he's never injured and always plays. He leads by example and we would love to have him here for the next couple of years.

"You always hope people will be satisfied. We pay good wages and made him a very good offer.

"I didn't see him because I don't do the negotiations but the people who do that told me he was quite happy."
