Arsene Wenger has revealed Theo Walcott picked up a muscle injury during Arsenal's thrilling 3-3 draw with Fulham and is a doubt for England.

Walcott was one of Arsenal's brighter players on the day, with dynamic runs causing Fulham problems, and he had a hand in two of the Gunners' goals.

The England international did not finish the contest, being substituted six minutes from full-time, and Wenger has confirmed his forward has a problem that will need assessment.

"Walcott has a glute muscle problem," Wenger said. "We nearly took him off at half-time, he nearly went down, but we left him on. In the end, it got worse."

Walcott is in the England squad but Wenger has cast doubt on whether he will be fit to face Sweden next week.

Wenger said: "At the moment, he is limping so I do not know whether he will be able to join the national team or not."
