Gerrard given all-clear over knee injury
The FA has announced that Steven Gerrard has been cleared to travel with the England squad for Wednesday's friendly in Sweden.
Gerrard, 32, picked up a minor knee injury during Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Sunday and there were concerns he could miss the trip to Stockholm, where he is due to win his 100th cap for his country.
However, the FA said on its official website: "Steven Gerrard has been cleared to travel with the England squad to Sweden having undergone a precautionary scan on Monday afternoon."
England manager Roy Hodgson has seen Wayne Rooney, Theo Walcott, Jonjo Shelvey, Kyle Walker and Aaron Lennon withdraw from his squad for the game. Wilfried Zaha, Carl Jenkinson and Tom Huddlestone have been added to the travelling party.
News of Gerrard's fitness will please Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, who will now hope to have his skipper available for the visit of Wigan to Anfield on November 17.
