Emmanuel Frimpong has rejected rumours that he could leave Arsenal on a permanent basis but has said he is hopeful of securing a loan deal in the short-term.

Frimpong, 20, was loaned to Wolverhampton Wanderers last season and made five league appearances for the club before suffering a serious knee injury.

He has since returned to training with Arsenal, but just two appearances in the League Cup have led to suggestions his future does not lie at Emirates Stadium.

However, the midfielder has said he is fully committed to the Gunners, although a temporary move could be in the offing with Wolves and Ipswich both linked.

"Subject to rumours am not leaving [Arsenal] I am positive of going on loan this week which am really excited about and I am fully committed to [Arsenal]," Frimpong said on his Twitter account.

"And [I] am not in my last year or looking to be sold just to clear matters thank you and going on loan to get games and come back to Arsenal."
