Manchester United are likely to be without midfielder Shinji Kagawa for a further month.

The Japan international picked up a knee injury during United's 3-2 win over Braga in the Champions League in October.

Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson initially revealed Kagawa would be sidelined for a month, but his progress has been slow and he could well be out for double that period of time.

"Shinji's progress has been quite slow actually," Ferguson said ahead of Manchester United's Champions League clash with Galatasaray. "He's not started any outside work and we're looking at another four weeks, which is disappointing.

"Originally we thought three or four weeks - now it looks like seven or eight weeks."

Defender Phil Jones is likely to make his return from injury against Gala. Ferguson said: "It's a big day for Phil Jones. He's been out all season. He's done enough training to make sure his fitness is okay. I'm looking forward to bringing him back."
