Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Theo Walcott will miss Arsenal's Champions League clash against Montpellier with a shoulder injury.

The England winger fell awkwardly after a challenge from Michael Dawson during the Gunner's derby win over Tottenham on Saturday.

Although Walcott was able to continue after receiving treatment, Wenger said Walcott had not trained on Tuesday and would be undergoing a scan to determine the extent of the problem.

He said: "One player who will miss Wednesday's game is Walcott. It's the injury he got during the game with his shoulder. It's the injury he got during the game with his shoulder. We have to scan that today and see if there is no damage. He will be out for tomorrow but it should be short-term."

Andre Santos is also unavailable for the visit of Montpellier to Emirates Stadium with an abdominal muscle strain, but Gervinho and Kieran Gibbs are both in the squad after recovering from injury.
