Paris Saint Germain have ruled themselves out of the running to sign David Beckham in January.

Beckham announced on Tuesday that he would be leaving MLS side LA Galaxy at the end of this year. But the former England international feels there is life in his 37-year-old legs and wants one final challenge.

"I've had an incredibly special time playing for the LA Galaxy, however, I wanted to experience one last challenge before the end of my playing career," Beckham said.

Clubs around the globe are jockeying for position, with interest from Australia extremely strong, and it was claimed that PSG were readying a short-term deal.

PSG manager Carlo Ancelotti is a huge admirer of Beckham, having worked with him at AC Milan. He claims there was interest from his club but they have now moved on.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of his side's Champions League clash with Dynamo Kiev, Ancelotti said: "We have not made any further offer. Our interest is over.

"We wish him well. Our spending is over."
