Ronaldo: No United comeback talk with Fergie

Cristiano Ronaldo has quashed speculation linking him with a return to Manchester United from Real Madrid.

Ronaldo, 27, admitted feeling unsettled in Spain earlier in the season, while his former manager at Old Trafford, Sir Alex Ferguson, hinted that the door was always open for the Portuguese attacker to return, but described him as "unbuyable".

Real travelled to Manchester last week to play City in the Champions League, where Ronaldo and Ferguson met up, but he insists talks of a move back to the Premier League were not on the agenda.

"I met Alex Ferguson on the day of the game, he came to our hotel in Manchester to speak with Jose Mourinho," Ronaldo said. "Of course I talked to him as well. We keep in touch. It was nice to see him again."

When asked if he discussed a return to Manchester United with Ferguson, he replied: "No. We didn't speak about that.

"We just talked about his times with Manchester United and mine with Real Madrid. We were just happy to see each other."

Meanwhile, Ronaldo backed United to wrestle back their Premier League crown from rivals City this season, but claimed there are numerous sides capable of title glory.

"There are three or four teams who can perhaps win the league, which is why it is the most competitive anywhere in the world.

"It will be tough for every team but I think United will do it this year and win their title back. It won't be easy and it will be very close, but United are stronger in attack this season and that could be the difference."
