City coach Platt given two-match ban

Manchester City first-team coach David Platt has been handed a two-match touchline ban by UEFA after being sent to the stands during City's 1-1 draw with Real Madrid at the Etihad Stadium.
Italian referee Gianluca Rocchi showed Platt a red card for swearing at the officials as the Premier League champions crashed out of the Champions League group stages for the second year in succession.
Platt will now be forced to watch City's final group match against Borussia Dortmund from the stands, along with one other fixture - starting with City's first Europa League match, should they finish above Ajax in Group D after next Tuesday's matches.
"Manchester City have also been fined €12,000 for the improper conduct of its team (five cards or more) in the same match," UEFA confirmed in a statement.
"An appeal may be lodged against the verdict within three days of the dispatch of the reasoned decision."
