Arsene Wenger will assess his Arsenal future at the end of the season following another disappointing result as the Gunners slipped to a 2-0 loss at home to Swansea City.

Two late goals from Michu on Saturday inflicted a fourth loss of the campaign on Arsenal, leaving the club in 10th place after 15 matches of the 2012-13 term.

Booing from sections of the fans was audible at Emirates Stadium on Saturday, while a protest by the 'Black Scarf Movement' prior to the match reiterated growing discontent.

Wenger was asked after the loss whether he has considered resigning from his post, which he has occupied since being appointed in 1996.

The Frenchman is quoted in the Mail on Sunday as saying: "Not at all. You make your assessment at the end of the season.

He added: "I know we've got unrest everywhere. It's a good opportunity to stick together and show we're a strong club."

When he was asked if it hurt that his side lie mid-table, Wenger said: 'Of course. But I'm not as worried about the places. We need to get the quality of our game back."

Wenger has led Arsenal to three Premier League trophies and four FA Cup triumphs, but has been without silverware since 2005.

Meanwhile, the club have announced that chairman Peter Hill-Wood is recovering from a heart attack following a bout of pneumonia.

A statement on the club's website read: "Everyone at Arsenal football club sends their support and best wishes to chairman Peter Hill-Wood.

"Peter was taken ill at home on Friday and is currently being treated in hospital. He is making a good recovery.

"The club wishes Peter a full and speedy return to health and our thoughts are with him and his family at this time."
