Marouane Fellaini has responded to questions over his Everton future by insisting he wants to stay at Goodison Park.

Fellaini, 25, is wanted by Russian Premier League side Zenit St Petersburg, who confirmed their interest in the player on Thursday.

Manager David Moyes has admitted that he would find it difficult to turn down a huge offer for one of his star names, pointing out that the money could be used to improve the overall strength of his squad.

But Fellaini, signed for £15 million from Standard Liege in 2008, is indicated that he is keen to stay on Merseyside. The midfielder, whose contract at Goodison Park runs until 2016, said: "My head is exclusively with Everton. I'm saying nothing about all the rumours.

"Although I'm happy to be praised for my performances, my future is with Everton.

"We are playing well enough to fight for a European place, even the Champions League, but we must retain this rhythm all season. It won't be easy but we want to do it.

"Our fans deserve to have some more big European nights."

Fellaini, who went into Sunday's Premier League match against Tottenham as Everton's leading scorer, with eight goals three clear of nearest rival Nikica Jelavic is hopeful that he can maintain his good form.

"I am pleased with my current form," he said. "There's no secret to it. It's a combination of luck, work and good positioning in the penalty area.

"I do what the forwards do, and score goals."
