Patrice Evra has welcomed reports linking him with a move to Paris Saint-Germain but has stressed he is currently happy at Manchester United.

Evra, 31, is a reported target of PSG ahead of the January transfer window, with the French club, who are second in Ligue 1, said to be keen to bolster their defence.

The left-back is contracted to United until the end of the 2013-14 season, although speculation has continued to link his club with interest in Everton's Leighton Baines, casting doubt over Evra's future.

But Evra, who signed for the Red Devils from Monaco in 2006, has told Canal Plus: "You would have to kill Ferguson before bringing me to Paris.

"For now, there is nothing to do. I have a year left on my contract. I am at Manchester United. I am captain and I am happy. But it's always a pleasure to be wanted by a club such as Paris St Germain, especially as I am Parisian.

"I have never hidden my love of Paris, even though Monaco is still 'my' team. It has always pained me to see the club not win the title or qualify for the Champions League."
