Lens will let Dindane play in FA Cup final for £2 million

Lens may have waived their right to a full £4 million bullet payment to allow on-loan striker Aruna Dindane to play in the FA Cup final, but they are still demanding half the fee from cash-strapped Portsmouth.

Dindane has scored seven goals in 21 games during his time at Fratton Park and just one more appearance would trigger a payment to his parent club.

Lens will allow Dindane to play in the FA Cup final against Chelsea, but not in the Premier League, for a cut-price fee of £2 million, but with Portsmouth mired in administration it is still a figure the club can't afford.

Pompey administrator Andrew Andronikou is currently on his way to France for further talks with Lens and is still hopeful of striking an acceptable deal with the Ligue 1 club.

Andronikou is unhappy with the current offer and told Soccernet: "Are they coming from another planet? We have made it perfectly clear that we will not pay them £2 million for one game.

"He [Dindane] is not Lionel Messi and we don't expect him turn out for one game and be brilliant. He has to get himself match-fit. It wouldn't be fare on the other players."

Dindane's only outing in the past month was in the FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham Hotspur and helped Portsmouth to a 2-0 win and a Wembley final against Chelsea next month.
