Frank Lampard was left disappointed as Chelsea failed to clinch the Club World Cup trophy following a 1-0 loss to Corinthians on Sunday.

Paolo Guerrero scored the only goal of the final at the Yokohama Stadium as Corinthians were crowned Club World Cup winners at Chelsea's expense.

Lampard, who skippered the Blues, expressed his frustration at the loss but gave credit to their Brazilian opponents for a resilient display.

"It was always going to be a tough game. They are a very good team," Lampard told BBC2. "It is tough to come away with a bad feeling. We had enough chance to at least draw the match.

"They were very organised, I think Brazilian teams at club level can be like that. We knew what they were going to bring.

"It is disappointing to come all this way and not win it."

Chelsea will now return to England ahead of their Capital One Cup quarter-final against Leeds United on Wednesday, and Lampard has called for focus ahead of their domestic schedule.

"We have to win a run of games in the league now," Lampard said. "We've got the league, the Europa League, Capital One Cup and the FA Cup coming up.

"We have to move on."
