Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris claims he was "terrified" by the sight of Swansea forward Michu lying on the ground following a heavy collision between the pair as Spurs eked out a 1-0 win.

Lloris came off his goal-line to punch clear in the dying stages of the match at White Hart Lane on Sunday, but collided with Michu in a nasty clash.

Referee Mike Dean waved play on as Michu lay motionless. Andros Townsend, meanwhile, almost scored a second for the hosts, but Lloris insists his only concern was for Michu's welfare.

"I was terrified when I saw him on the ground," Lloris explained. "I had to go for it and impose myself.

"I made the decision to punch and unfortunately there was a big collision.

"It's okay, he got up and it was more a fear than injury. I asked him several times, he said there's no problem."

Swansea boss Michael Laudrup was furious over the incident after the match, declaring Spurs players should have played the ball out while Michu's condition was checked.
