Gerard Houllier has said he does not believe striker Thierry Henry will move to Arsenal for a third time during the January transfer window.

New York Red Bulls forward Henry, 35, has been linked with a loan return to the Emirates Stadium - a move he made last season.

The former France international has been training with the Gunners in recent weeks, and manager Arsene Wenger has indicated that he could replicate last season's move.

But Red Bulls Head of Global Soccer, Houllier, a former Liverpool and Aston Villa manager, said he did not believe his countryman would end up signing with the north London club once more when the transfer window opens.

Houllier denied there had been any contact between the clubs about a loan, telling Canal Plus: "I find it strange what we hear in the media. If Arsene needed him, he would have called me or [sporting director] Andy Roxburgh, but this is not the case.

"I do not think both parties need to have this second comeback. Moreover, he has become a dad again. I think he will appreciate this truce."
