Demba Ba has questioned Newcastle United's playing style this season as speculation over his future continues following his recent comments on Arsenal.

Ba, 27, has been linked with a January transfer to Arsenal after stating in an interview with Canal+ that the Gunners are a "dream" club who are aware of his £7.5 million release clause.

The Senegal international, who signed for Newcastle on a free transfer in 2011, has scored 11 Premier League goals this season but has seen his side struggle, with the club just two points above the drop zone.

"I'm not happy when the team does not create anything," he told Canal+. "Fans come to see beautiful games with beautiful actions and not long balls from the goalkeeper to the striker."

Ba is looking ahead to Newcastle's match versus QPR this weekend, as they look to bounce back from the disappointment of a 3-1 defeat at home to Manchester City.

He said: "Next Saturday against QPR, if we make mistakes the fans will become more demanding. If we play like we did against City, we should win. Don't forget it was the champions we played last Saturday."
