Sinclair content to be patient at City

Manchester City's forgotten man Scott Sinclair believes he has settled in well at the Etihad Stadium - despite only playing 15 minutes in the Premier League in almost three months.

The former Swansea winger feels he will become a better player as a result of joining the champions but admitted he needs to be patient in his bid for first-team football.

Sinclair swapped Swansea for City in August in a £6.2 million deal but has only started two league games for Roberto Mancini.

And since September 23, he has only made two brief cameos as a substitute in the Premier League, while his only involvement in the past month came in the 1-0 Champions League defeat to Borussia Dortmund.

"Hopefully I can get more game time and get on the pitch a bit more, but at the same time I have to be patient and wait my turn," he told City's official website. "The important thing is that I'm learning every day.

"I knew it was going to be difficult, it was one of the hardest routes I could have taken, but in order to become a better player, you have to play with the best players."

Sinclair was signed as a replacement for Adam Johnson, who joined Sunderland in the summer, but whereas his predecessor made 26 league appearances last season, the newcomer has been limited to four so far.

But with Samir Nasri reportedly ruled out of City's Christmas programme, Sinclair's opportunity could come as Mancini's men have five games in 15 days.

And he added: "The important thing is that I keep moving forward and improving and like I say, when my time comes around it's important that I take my chance.

"It's all about the timing and the impact when I come on. If I get five minutes or if I start the game, I've got to cause some trouble for the opposition and make an impression."
