Jose Enrique faces a spell on the sidelines after tearing his hamstring during Liverpool's victory at Queens Park Rangers.

The Spaniard limped off after 71 minutes clutching his right leg as the Reds cruised to a 3-0 victory at Loftus Road.

Liverpool assistant manager Colin Pascoe, standing in for the ailing Brendan Rodgers, said he expects Enrique to be out for a while with the problem.

"Unfortunately it looks like he's got a tear in his hamstring," Pascoe said. "He was terrific today, absolutely superb, and the way he's been performing these last couple of months has been a joy to watch. It's a shame, and hopefully he's not out for too long."

Pascoe also revealed that a virus had been making its way round the Liverpool dressing room and a number of players, including keeper Brad Jones, had been brought down. Pascoe had also been feeling under the weather and had to pass his notes to first-team coach Mike Marsh for the half-time team-talk.

"This morning, [Rodgers] phoned me," Pascoe told Liverpool's official website. "I wasn't feeling very well myself, but he was worse than me! He didn't look so good, he was very, very white. We were in the hotel.

"All the preparation had been done for the match. Brendan picked the team. The presentations to the players were all set, I just did the presentations today. The driver had to take him [Brendan] back home.

"The way the medical team and the doctors isolated the players and the staff, they've been fantastic. Hopefully it's nipped in the bud and not too many players or staff will be affected by it." "I made notes before, during and after and I gave them to Mike Marsh, who went in and gave instructions. I wasn't allowed in the dressing room!"
