Tottenham officially announced on Monday that goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini will move to MLS side LA Galaxy in January.

Cudicini, 39, has slipped down the pecking order at White Hart Lane after a motorcycle crash which resulted in two fractured wrists and damage to his pelvis.

Following the signing of Hugo Lloris he has become the club's third-choice goalkeeper behind the Frenchman and Brad Friedel, who recently signed a new deal.

It is expected that he will sign a two-year contract at the Galaxy, and Tottenham announced on their official website: "We have reached agreement for the transfer of Carlo Cudicini to Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy. We wish Carlo all the best for the future."

Cudicini moved to White Hart Lane in January 2009 on a free transfer after spending nine years with Chelsea and will join former Tottenham striker Robbie Keane at the Galaxy.

The Italian made a total of 37 appearances for Spurs but only played once this season, featuring in a Capital One Cup win over Carlisle.
