Redknapp backs Premier League with Scottish teams
QPR manager Harry Redknapp fully supports the idea that Celtic and Rangers should move south and play in English football.
The long-mooted proposition was floated again this week by Ibrox chief executive Charles Green, with the Gers angered by plans to restructure the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Football League.
And Redknapp says he is in complete agreement with the notion that Rangers and Celtic could play in the Premier League, a stance he has always maintained.
"I'd like to see Rangers and Celtic play in England, yeah. I've said it for years," Redknapp said. "They're two of the biggest clubs in the world.
"Maybe it would give somebody else a chance to win something in Scotland if they left. You look around their support, they are fantastic football clubs. You go all over the world you'll find supporters of Celtic and Rangers.
"Everyone flies to every game now. We've got Welsh teams in the Premier League. Swansea City are there. Why not two Scottish teams?"
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger also proffered his opinion on the issue on Friday, saying: "Yes [I would welcome them] but you would not want to destroy Scottish football and Rangers and Celtic in England would destroy the Scottish game."
