Queens Park Rangers' new signing Loic Remy has told how a discussion with the club's chairman Tony Fernandes about the computer game FIFA 12 helped convince him to move to west London.

In signing from Marseille, Remy has become the club's record signing but the exact fee paid out for the France international has not been revealed.

The 26-year-old seemed to be heading to Newcastle until QPR joined the hunt and will pay the striker wages reportedly between £80,000 and £110,000 a week.

But Remy has added further detail as to why he joined QPR, saying that talking about the popular football game showed the chairman's personal touch.

"It was a moment that followed our serious chat about the club project for the future and we had the chance to have this nice moment," Remy told QPR's website.

"It was good because it showed to me how a big person and entrepreneur, as he is, has a human side, it was nice. Not usual, but nice."

Remy also stressed the role Harry Redknapp played in his decision because the English manager filled him with confidence over his potential.

"We talked a lot with the gaffer about technical and tactical issues," Remy added. "He explained to me what was his feeling about me in this club and in the league and I was attracted because he has big experience and big expertise in the league and in football in general.

"He said to me that he strongly believed in my potential and his feeling was that together we can achieve great targets."
