Qatari side Al-Gharafa have signed Djibril Cisse on loan from Queens Park Rangers until the end of the season.

Cisse has played only 45 minutes for QPR since being hauled off at half-time during the 3-0 defeat to Liverpool on December 30 and manager Harry Redknapp, who recently brought in Loic Remy from Marseille, had confirmed at the end of last week that he was happy for the 31-year-old to move on.

"It saves us some wages and I think he's up for that," Redknapp said. "He wants to play. Hopefully Bobby Zamora is on his way back. I think Zamora and Remy can be a real partnership.

"I didn't ask him [Cisse] to stay. The chief exec said there was an offer to play somewhere. There's no problem."

Cisse, who signed from Lazio in a £4 million deal a year ago, has scored four goals in 21 appearances for QPR this season.
