Inter have reportedly made a bid for Corinthians star Paulinho with Massimo Moratti saying a player of his ability "is always useful."

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder is widely coveted and it is believed the Nerazzurri have made their move following the departure of Wesley Sneijder to Galatasaray on Monday.

With Liverpool seemingly intent on adding Philippe Coutinho to their squad this month the San Siro outfit have made a €15 million bid for the Brazilian according to Tuesday's La Gazzetta dello Sport.

However, Moratti insists any move would need to meet with the club's newly imposed financial constraints as they bid to keep in line with UEFA's Financial Fair Play regulations.

"One step at a time," the Inter president stated following the confirmation of Sneijder's exit. "We've just done this, let's now see what we need to do.

"A player like that, with his attributes, is always useful but the cost does come into it."
