Johan Djourou has revealed he wants to make his loan deal from Arsenal to Hannover a permanent one.

Djourou, 26, joined the German club earlier this month after finding himself as the Gunners' fourth-choice centre-back.

The deal runs until the end of the season but does not include an option for Hannover to buy the defender in the summer. Djourou, however, is refusing to give up hope of forcing a permanent move.

"Arsenal did not want to include a buy option," he said. "But those things don't worry me right now. I have to perform first, to make sure Hannover want to buy me."

Despite Djourou making his debut in Hannover's 5-4 defeat at Schalke last Friday, the Switzerland international believes he can achieve great things with the club.

"As a team we have the quality to reach the Champions League," he said. "Everything has to work out great and we all have to stay fit. It is a high goal, but you need to have them in sport."

Hannover, who take on Wolfsburg this Saturday, sit 11th in the Bundesliga and trail the Champions League spots by seven points.
