QPR's Ferdinand secures Bursaspor loan
QPR defender Anton Ferdinand has joined Bursaspor on loan until the end of the season, with an option for a permanent move.
Ferdinand, 27, will become the second defender to leave the struggling Premier League side after Ryan Nelsen accepted a deal to become manager of MLS side Toronto.
Prior to Saturday's 4-2 defeat to League One side MK Dons in the FA Cup the former Sunderland and West Ham player had not made an appearance since the 2-1 loss to West Brom on Boxing Day, having fallen out of favour since manager Harry Redknapp's arrival.
On Friday Redknapp had denied that Ferdinand was set to leave Loftus Road, but the player's departure hints that a new player could be forthcoming.
"I can't let anybody go unless we get some players in," Redknapp said. "I can't weaken the squad further. I need to strengthen, not weaken, so I can't think about letting anybody leave unless we get some replacements in."
Bursaspor are seventh in the Turkish Super Lig, but just four points off second place. However they trail leaders Galatasaray by nine points.
