Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech is out of the Czech Republic's friendly against Turkey on Wednesday with a suspected broken finger picked up during the 3-2 defeat to Newcastle.

It is not yet clear when the Blues' first-choice keeper will be ready for a return to action but Chelsea will hope that he is fit to face Wigan on Saturday.

Cech missed most of the January fixtures through injury and Ross Turnbull struggled as his replacement.

"Petr Cech will not play [on Wednesday] because he has a swollen or maybe even broken upper part of his pinkie finger," Czech FA spokesman Jaroslav Kolar said on Monday.

"It is still too early to say how long he will be unable to play. He just went for an examination, so we will give more details likely tomorrow when we have the doctor's findings."

Jan Lastuvka will replace Cech in goal for the friendly, while Jaroslav Drobny will fill his spot in the squad.
